President-Elect Obama’s First Interview: 60 Minutes – Sunday, November 16, 2009

AP on TV Steve Kroft Obama Since Barack Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States 12 days ago, he has largely remained out of sight, getting high-level government briefings and conferring with his transition team. But he surfaced on Friday afternoon in Chicago, alongside his wife Michelle to give 60 Minutes his first post-election interview.

  1. Wow, what a refreshing picture, to see someone with a comprehension of the situation, a lucid perception of the political atmosphere and a knowledge of the Constitution. What a stunning contrast to the current president!

  3. This was such a great interview. It again gave me such faith in Obama as a leader. He’s thoughtful and insightful. It’ll be nice to have a president with a working brain. He has the potential to be one of our best presidents ever. And we should be thankful after 8 years of the worst one ever.

  5. Sensico – I love seeing the Obamas together as well. They are a real couple – not manufactured – and have real love and affection for each other.

  6. Bruce , I agree. It’s GREAT to see a thinking POTUS – yeah! I know it will be difficult and lots of sacrifice will have to be made and know that it will get worst before it gets better, etc but at least I know there will be soem light at the end of the tunnel.

With McC there would only have been a tunnel…
