Evangelicals Will Vote For Obama

Speech is arguably man’s greatest gift and simultaneously it is his most dangerous liability.

It is impossible to estimate the good speech has done when great men and women have truthfully instructed and inspired others. At the same time we cannot measure how much evil the tongue has perpetrated when it bears falsehoods disguised as truth that have destroyed reputations and even nations.

A good and devout Christian is a person who loves their neighbor as themself. A person who lives by example, shares the Lord with others and by living a life of example they make non-believers want to become followers of Jesus Christ – Christians.  A good Christian is Christ-like and he or she practices and teaches tolerance and is not narrow-minded nor speaks evil of others. God loves us ALL.

Here is one such Evangelical who understands the complete philosophy of Jesus. Christ was not a one-issue deity He knew that the world was filled with different people who had different points-of-view but who could come together and live as one in unity for the greatest good of all mankind.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke [reason with] thy neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord. Leviticus 19: 17-18 (KJV)

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Exodus 20:16

This forbids, speaking falsely in any matter, lying, equivocating, and any way devising and designing to deceive our neighbor or others.

  1. This was refreshing to see. Most of the interviews we see only show the intolerant so-called Christians.
The person interviewed here is by far in the majority and truly made my day.

  2. My2bucks – this is indeed an excellent video. It’s good to get the entire story! I’m glad to see that there are thinking Christians just like Christ was a thinking man!

  3. Wow! That’s amazing to actually hear an Evangelical show such a moderate position. Are there really others like her out there? I mean I’m sure there are, I just never hear them much in the public domain.

Are such Christians the majority? Because if they are, that would be great.

I’m going to have to “borrow” this video and post on my blog, too. It’s just too extraordinary.

And of course Paulette, I know from your previous writings you are a conscious sane Christian who espouses the same type of approach this woman does.

Love, understanding, acceptance, tolerance, brotherhood. This to me is what it’s all about.

It’s not about lying and calling (or insinuating) someone is a terrorist in front of the American public. And then to have people who call themselves Christian agree with that fear-mongering.

Your quotes Paulette, were the perfect addition.

    Thank you for posting this.

  4. Bruce, yup these are excellent videos, when I saw them I HAD to post them.

Every voter should see the Alaskan ladies and Evangelical lady videos.

Bruce I talk with many, many Floridians each day and 99% are avid Obama supporters – even republicans. They are seeing that McCain is all hot air and offers no real solutions.

Even as a loyal democrat I still listen to what other the other parties have to say – you never know, they might have a better plan. I’ve voted for republicans in local elections because they were just plain and simply better qualified. I vote my interests.

I don’t understand people who say ‘I have always voted democratic or republican so even if the candidate if not the best candidate I’m voting the way I always voted’ – that is insanity!

We have to think about how each candidate in each race is going to affect our lives short term and long term.

I have studied and investigated Obama these past 21 months and I always come up with Obama being the better candidate. That’s why I love the Evangelical lady and Alaskan ladies videos – you can see that they have thought their decisions through and have made educated decisions.

    Obama/Biden 08!

  5. Bruce, as a serious Christian (I don’t consider myself religious) I am offended and appalled at the behavior of McCain, Palin and some of their supporters. How can someone who loudly and proudly proclaims to be a Christian really be a Christian without following the fundamentals of what Jesus Christ taught?! How can someone be a Christian and lie blatantly and knowingly for their own personal benefit – every day!?

Palin’s minister and fellow parishioners must be appalled by the words coming out of her mouth!

Palin and McCain’s behavior has turned me off from them completely.

  6. Dear Paulette,

Thanks so much for posting my video clip! And by the way, a friend just called me to say that my video clip is now on CNN’s iReports. Here is the link if you want to check it out:

    http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-113410?ref=feeds%2Foncnn.

I too am appalled by Sarah Palin and John McCain’s dangerous and downright evil comments about Obama. As a Christian, I shudder every time the press identifies them as folks who love and revere CHRIST’S teachings.

I certainly do not profess to be perfect…nor am I a glowing example of JESUS’S loving and compassionate behavior. But to run for office and then insight hatred, bigotry, small-mindedness and fear as your main platform to cut down your opponents as a Christian…well, that is just unbelievable to me.

I really enjoy your website and I want to invite you to come to mine as well. http://www.evangelicalsforobama.wordpress.com. I look forward to our continued conversation.

  7. Kristin:

Wow, it’s so good to meet you. I enjoyed your interview – it was very insightful and open and Christ-like. You are a real emissary for Jesus Christ and will bring more followers to Him.

I am a Christian but not an Evangelical and I take Jesus seriously. I believe in his almighty power and will not mock him.

I believe that’s what McCain/Palin is doing – mocking God. If someone is not aware of God’s laws then I can understand going against God’s principles. However when someone is a devout Christian who openly goes against God’s laws – I think that is un-Christian. I think Plain’s minister should be picking up the phone and speaking with her and correcting her wrongs.

I personally do not ‘believe’ in abortions but I would not dare dictate to someone what they should do. Each person knows their situation and circumstances and that’s between the person making that decision and God. God is an understanding God; God sees the heart.

It was my pleasure to post your video and it is good to meet you. I look forward to continued conversations!

    God bless!

  13. Bruce there’s been LOTS of moving and shaking today! 🙂

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Kristin’s comments.

There are some great people hitting the roads and working real hard to bring us some fabulous, fabulous information and opening all our minds. There should be Emmys for these‘youminidocumentaries’.

I think this piece of journalism in particular will give other Evangelicals the courage to speak their truths.

I wish the MSM would do real work like this. Americans should see both sides of the coin.

    Cheers!

  14. I know there are tons of Christians voting Obama. But all you ever hear reported is how the rightwing ones are voting McCain, or actually they’re really voting Palin. But again, here’s an Evangelical who is moderate who is not. You’re right, the MSM should be reporting on these types, too.
