Ad: John McCain – Erratic In Time Of Crisis

“Our financial system in turmoil and John McCain? Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy.”

The ad, slated to start running Monday on national cable, seeks to capitalize on John McCain’s response to the nation’s financial crisis while rebutting Republican attacks on Obama’s character.

As Congress worked to pass the $700 billion Wall Street bailout, McCain announced that he would suspend his campaign and skip the first presidential debate while he worked on a solution. He inevitably attended the debate even as the deal in Congress faltered.

Democrats say McCain tried to politicize the crisis with a campaign gimmick.

“No wonder his campaign has announced a plan to turn a page on the financial crisis, distract with dishonest, dishonorable assaults against Barack Obama,” the ad continues. “Struggling families can’t turn the page on this economy and we can’t afford another president who’s this out of touch.”

  1. McCain is so desperate he will do anything to win. He and Palin promise something new. No, it’s called Bush/Cheney/Rove, exactly what we’ve been living with the past 8 years. Palin is so ambitious she can’t wait to get her hands on the role of VP so she can unconstitutionally expand her powers. And you know she’s hoping if she gets in that McCain will die and she can take over.

I like the fact they are announcing McCain is going negative in the last 30 days. Uh, how is that different than the negative campaign he’s been running all along? It’s not new. I think what we’ll see is just more overt shit.

    But it ain’t gonna wash.

  2. Bruce, McCain can’t win with just republicans – he needs some independents.

Independents are usually more aware and have more political savy – they don’t like the negative politics so what the heck is McCain doing? The only people who will like his negative campaign are those already voting for him, so what’s the point; why cover himself in shit?

But if McCain starts throwing punches he better be ready to get hit back and hard!

  3. Paulette – I hope the seniors in Florida realize that John McCain wants to cut Medicare to help pay for his Health Care Plan.

  4. Cats – there are LOTS of seniors working for Obama in Palm Beach County. I don’t know about other Counties, but the Seniors here are well informed!
